It’s always nice to start the week off with a WINNER and while we didn’t get the 7/2 morning line here in the U.S., 5/2 was good value on Jais’ Solitude as he had the benefit of some pace in front of him and took the lead in midstretch and won nicely. In Race 7, we had a really disappointing effort from Ocean Air who stalked early, dropped back on the far turn and just never seemed interested in running. In Race 8, Munnys Gold opened at 1/9 odds of a huge debut win back in June of last year. She broke last but quickly raced to the lead and ran them off their feet giving us our second win of the day.
We’ll remain at Gulfstream for Thursday’s races. As of now there’s a 30% chance of rain in the forecast. Let’s get to work.
Thursday at Gulfstream Park:
Race 9: R Rose’ All Day - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/1)
Maiden claimers go a mile on turf here and we have several entered for sale for the very first time. Our selection - R Rose’ All Day is one of those. She also owns the field’s top turf speed figure which is admittedly not a terribly difficult feat as only four have raced on turf so far - but it’s a fact nonetheless. In R Rose’ All Day’s lone turf start she raced up near the early pace and continued on gamely to the end. She adds Lasix today for the very first time and possesses the kind of tactical speed that makes her dangerous in a spot like this.
Best of luck to all our members playing Thursday’s races from Gulfstream !
