Gulfstream Park:

Race 5: 6th@ 4.30/1

Race 6: 1st@ 1.30/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Race 8: 7th@ 18.90/1

It might be winter but we are RED HOT. We’ve now given out winners in 12 of 13 race days in January for an overall profit of $795.00 for a return on investment of 77.56%!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

In Race 5, Officer Country was bet down from his 8/1 morning line to 4/1 (that seems to be a common theme these days) but never got out of first gear finishing sixth. In Race 6, Calibrator broke (at 6/5 from a 5/2 morning line) from the rail post beneath Edgard Zayas. I had hoped he’d get to the front and take them gate to wire but he instead took back, stalked and pounced turning for home drawing away with authority. In Race 8, Maya Prince raced well back and came with a wide run but it wasn’t enough and he checked in a closer-than-it-looks 7th.

Let’s head back to Gulfstream for Friday’s races. We are expecting fast and firm conditions beneath sunny skies with mild temperatures. Let’s get this weekend started!!!

Friday at Gulfstream Park:

Race 6: Olympic Runner - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 5/1)

It’s a new year! So let’s let bygones be bygones. Sure, I’ve hated trainer Mark Casse for several years now ever since he ruined potential superstar Classic Empire. Sure, he loses with heavy favorites like it’s a bodily function but on the day after Christmas when he won the Tropical Park Derby for us with Golden Glider at 10/1 odds I swore I’d give him another chance in 2023. Olympic Runner returns for Casse off a July layoff but layoffs for turf runners generally aren’t a dealbreaker for me. Prior to that he was competing in Graded stakes races in Woodbine. He’s got a win over the surface where he earned this field’s top speed figure over the Gulfstream Park turf and is 2 for 2 in the money at the distance. He’s been working lights out and lures top rider Irad Ortiz (man I hope that guy has a good day on Friday!). Should sit the right trip just off the speed to the outside.

As always wishing our members the very best of luck on all your wagers at Gulfstream Park on Friday !
