Wednesday’s Race Recap from Gulfstream:

(All odds US)

Gulfstream Park:

Race 4: 6th@ 24.70/1

Race 5: 4th@ 37.20/1

In Race 4, we were right about 7/5 favorite Appraisal being overbet and also right that Bye Bye David would be moving best late. The problem was that he was moving far too late and finished in a close photo for fifth in a much improved effort from his initial dirt attempt. In Race 5, Bion Magic also improved from her recent efforts but could only muster a fourth place finish. We went fishing for long shots and came up empty today but will keep firing as it’s only a matter of time before we connect with one of these big bombs.

We will remain at Gulfstream for Thursday’s races. Fast and firm conditions are expected. Let’s get started!

Thursday at Gulfstream Park:

Race 7: Dr. Post - 2 pts win - BEST BET (US Morning Line Odds: 7/5)

Back to back favorites! What is this world coming to? Dr. Post comes into this race after a little more than a year on the sidelines. They probably could’ve retired him as he does have three stakes wins already to his name but they decided to bring him back off the layoff presumably because they’re looking for that Grade 1 or Grade 2 win. Of course a year is a long time to be off but if there’s a barn I’d want in my corner with a layoff like this it’s this one. He’s been working well and has a 1 for 1 record at the distance. If he runs back to his prior form he has a significant class edge over these and we have every reason to believe they’re not bringing him back simply to win an allowance race. Look out!

Best of luck to all our members playing Thursday’s races from Gulfstream!
