Thursday’s Race Recap from Aqueduct:

(All odds US)

Race Replays for yesterday’s races from Aqueduct:

Aqueduct:

Race 1: 5th@ 18.90/1

Race 5: 2nd@ 23.80/1

Race 6: 8th@ 26.75/1

Race 8: 2nd@ 0.90/1

In Race 1 we took a shot with Disturbed who appeared to make up ground at the end of his last start and she did the same thing today. The problem was she was ten city blocks behind the field early and closed for fifth. In Race 5, Reunion Tour stalked the pacesetting Gimmebackmybullets at 23/1 from the outside, made a menacing move on the far turn but was rebuffed and had to settle for second at overlaid odds. In Race 6, Lemon Taffy was hard ridden early but never got a run going checking in 8th and in the 8th, Missy Greer was sent to the lead and set a fast pace for the track condition. She was caught late in the stretch by $1.25million Tap the Faith who earned her owners some of that expensive price tag.

We took a shot with a few bombs and came away with a pair of 2nd place finish at long odds and short odds to show for it. The horses running here at Aqueduct right now are SO bad that it makes sense to stick to that strategy of flushing out value as we stay at windy Aqueduct for Friday’s races. We are expecting a fast main track. Let’s get to work!

Friday at Aqueduct:

Race 9: Colormepazzi - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 6/1)

Claimers close out our day going 6 1/2 furlongs and Colormepazzi is coming off a lifetime top performance last time out. Despite his 85 speed figure which lays over the competition he’s being overlooked here based on the morning line odds. Low profile connections are partially to blame but he also hadn’t had a history of very high speed figures prior to that so I understand why some people might hesitate. I like the fact that he’s a two-time winner on the surface and at the distance. Two of three runners have returned from that race to improve their speed figures in subsequent starts with a third staying the same. Two workouts since his most recent start signal readiness.

Wishing our members the very best of luck on Friday's races from Aqueduct !
