Saturday’s Race Recap from Aqueduct:

(All odds US)

Race replays for yesterday’s races from Aqueduct can be found here:

Aqueduct:

Race 5: 6th@ 14.40/1

Race 7: 8th@ 6.10/1

Race 9: 5th@ 2.10/1

In Race 5, Irad Ortiz took back on Calycanthus on the rail despite the early speed he showed winning last time out and allowed Jose Ortiz aboard his uncoupled barn-mate to get to the front and win in gate to wire fashion. Calycanthus found traffic in the stretch and checked in 6th at 14/1. In Race 7, first time starting Summer Takeover broke slowly and ran slowly never really getting a call. In Race 9, Balthus stalked the early pace and never quickened in the drive fading to fifth.

Saturday’s Race Recap from Churchill Downs:

(All odds US)

Race replays for yesterday’s races from Churchill Downs can be found here:

Churchill Downs:

Race 1: 3rd@ 19.60/1

Race 4: 5th@ 10.90/1

Race 8: 3rd@ 7.90/1

Race 10: Pulled up@ 21.90/1

Our day at Churchill Downs began with Sun Thunder taking back off a moderate early pace, getting stuck when making his move and rallying late for third on debut at 19/1 odds. In Race 4, Dear Lady didn’t break well from her rail post on debut, stalked the early pace and rallied mildly for fifth. In Race 8, Ten Days Later was taken back off a hot pace and came flying best of all late to finish a hard closing third losing by less than a length. In Race 10 Take Charge Briana pulled up on the turn for home. Our thoughts and prayers are with her hoping she’s ok.

We’ll stay at Aqueduct for Sunday’s races. We are expecting fast and firm conditions and are looking to close the week on a winning note.

Sunday at Aqueduct:

Race 9: Bring the Magic - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 15/1)

Maiden claimers sprint 6 furlongs to close out our day and our week. Bring the Magic is one that’s likely to get overlooked at the betting windows but trainer Mike Miceli is known to pop with runners at a price and does well with these types of mid-layoffs. This runner owns the top Tomlinson figure for the distance in this field as well as the top Tomlinson for an off track so I have to imagine she’s got more than she’s showed us so far. The snappy workout on November 7 catches the eye and I’m hoping the Brings the Magic in the stretch.

Best of luck to all our members playing Sunday’s races from Aqueduct!
