Thursday’s Race Recap from Aqueduct:
(All odds US)
Replays for yesterday’s races from Churchill Downs can be found here:
Race 2: SCRATCH
Race 5: 3rd@ 4.22/1
Race 6: 2nd@ 1.86/1
Race 9: 4th@ 1.20/1
Our Thanksgiving began with a scratch in Race 2. In Race 5, Boardwalk Queen was well back and rallied mildly for third. In Race 6, Vow returned from a year layoff and ran valiantly but was unable to catch 20/1 Story Hour who benefited from a perfect rail-skimming trip. In Race 9, Speakinofthedevil fell well behind a rapid early pace and came with a strong late rally but it was too late, not enough to catch the winner.
The Thanksgiving leftovers are warming up in the microwave, the wife’s out shopping getting those Black Friday deals, let’s ease into this weekend with a few winners. I am THRILLED to be heading back to New York for some racing from Aqueduct. There’s a 70% chance of rain so I’ll be handicapping accordingly.
Let’s get to it:
Friday at Aqueduct:
Race 8: Voodoo Zip - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 6/1)
With rain in the forecast the Aqueduct Turf Sprint Championship is tricky to predict so I’m going to side with Voodoo Zip here. He’s already proven himself at this level and can appreciate the course and distance. This runner switches riders from Joel Rosario to Irad Ortiz and it never hurts to have the best rider on the grounds on your back. Of the runners in this race, Voodoo Zip’s closing fractional speed figures out-perform ALL of these on paper. Voodoo Zip from off the pace!!
As always best of luck to all our members playing Friday’s races! May all your photo finishes be winning ones!
