Wednesday’s Race Recap from Keeneland:

(All odds US)

Replays for yesterday’s races from Keeneland can be found here:

Keeneland:

Race 2: 8th@ 2.50/1

Race 3: SCRATCH

Race 6: 6th@ 3.50/1

Our week began with a thud as Bonanza Grade didn’t show the early speed she showed in her debut and was never in the race checking in a well-beaten eighth. After a scratch in Race 3 we had Brian Hernandez riding Bombdiggity in Race 6 and he showed no desire to get to the early lead. He rode as if he was on a pony ride at the petting zoo and checked in sixth.

Let’s move our tack to Aqueduct for Thursday’s races. We’re expecting fast and firm conditions beneath sunny skies. Let’s make some money!

Belmont at Aqueduct:

Race 9: Aula - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 10/1)

Two-year-olds bred in New York race a mile and a sixteenth on turf and none of the runners who have raced before has produced a speed figure north of 57 so I’m taking another shot with a debut runner. Aula debuts for trainer Christophe Clement, who began this Aqueduct slowly but has come on like a house afire winning at 27% over the last three weeks. Those three weeks include a 56% win percentage with New York bred route runners and an 8 for 9 in the money record with those types as well. The average payout has been $12.04 so now is the time to get strong odds on this trainer before the rest of the handicapping world notices. The breeding says he’s in the right spot being from the female family of multiple turf stakes winning Tres Coronas, on this circuit a little over a decade ago. This runner owns the field’s top Tomlinson figure and should be a handful on debut.

Best of luck to everyone playing Thursday’s races from Belmont at Aqueduct!
