Race 5: 2nd@ 4.60/1
Race 11: 4th@ 6.30/1
In Race 5, Strike Price broke near the lead from the rail and was expertly handled by Jairo Rendon taken just off the pace. Turning for home he took the lead in mid-stretch but was run down by 10/1 shot, Inappropriate who won by a neck. Strike Price was a valiant second. In Race 11, Lay the Groundwork saved ground early and got shuffled back to last on the far turn then rallied for fourth.

Gulfstream Park:
Race 7: 3rd@ 1.40/1
Our Gulfstream selection for the day, Laloba Feroz, raced well off a slower than anticipated early pace and rallied for third late in the game.
A second, a third and a fourth place finish from three selections on the day. The Aqueduct fall meet cannot start soon enough! We’ll take another look at Monmouth Park for Sunday’s races. I’m handicapping for fast and firm conditions although there’s a chance of rain in the forecast on Sunday afternoon. Let’s get to the action!
Sunday at Monmouth Park:
Race 8: Straight Time - 1 pt Win (US Morning Line Odds: 7/2)
Turf sprinters race 5 1/2 furlongs here and I like Straight Time. This runner has shown nice improvement in his starts. Most recently he’s raced on polytrack where he missed his last by a neck in a race that’s 1/2 furlong longer than he’ll race today. Last time he raced on grass he finished fourth but battled gamely and didn’t have the easiest of trips. Today he should have the run of the race right off the speed and 7/2 odds look like good value here.
