Good morning racing fans! With Saratoga in the rear-view mirror we’re going to take a crack at a few tracks around the U.S. over the next ten days or so til Aqueduct opens. For Wednesday we’ll look at Delaware Park where we expect rain over the next few days. I’ll be handicapping for an off track and off-the-turf. Let’s get to it!
Wednesday at Delaware Park:
Race 2: Chalk Hill - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)
$10k claimers race a mile and seventy yards here and three of the main contenders in this race exit an Aug. 26 race where they faced one another. That day, Bon Fire Diva had an easy early lead and coughed it up in the stretch to finish fourth. Offlee Graysful finished second but she had a dream trip riding the rail and had no excuse. I’m looking elsewhere so I ended up on Chalk Hill who exits a $25k maiden claiming race that she won going away and won easily. Trainer Jose Ramirez is winning at a 19% rate this meet and unlike many of these, this filly actually looks like she wants to go this far. Third choice on the morning line? I’ll sign up for 3/1 odds.
Best of luck to all our members playing Wednesday’s races from Delaware Park!
