In Race 6, Pure Pauline mounted a bid on the far turn but failed to change leads in mid-stretch and tailed off to fourth in her debut. In Race 8, Palm Cottage was sent to the early lead and held off the late rush by the favorite, Boston Post Road. In the Grade 1 Spinaway, Kaling was given the perfect, ground saving trip but couldn’t withstand the late bid from Leave No Trace. In Race 12, Quiet Type lagged well behind and rallied late for fourth.
We have MONDAY BONUS COVERAGE. It’s closing day at Saratoga. We’re expecting rain all night and all day tomorrow in the Saratoga area so I’m handicapping for “off the turf” and a sloppy main track. Thanks to all my members for supporting another profitable Saratoga meet for the service!
Monday at Saratoga:
Race 12: Cupid’s Heart - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 7/2)
Allowance runners bred in New York sprint 6 furlongs. Cupid’s Heart is 7/2 on the morning line but I feel like she’ll go favored here as she did when she made her debut. That day she was bumped at the start and broke last before passing the entire field to win off impressively. In her second career start (a day where we had her) she was run into traffic and lost all chance while making her bid. She’s since been laid off for almost a year and has been working up a storm. She should have pace to run into and is bred to relish any moisture in the track.
Best of luck to all our members playing Monday’s closing day races from Saratoga!
