God's Tipster's Wednesday Saratoga Pick: The 8th is the Tale of the Cat, 7 furlongs, Southern District favored

We are in the thick of the Saratoga meet and look to add yet another profitable week to our stat sheet. We’re expecting fast and firm conditions for Wednesday’s races. Let’s get this party started.

Wednesday at Saratoga:

Race 8: Awesome Gerry - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 7/2)

The Tale of the Cat at 7 furlongs is our feature race on today’s card. Southern District was installed as our 7/5 morning line favorite off three straight wins facing much lesser company. Last time out he got an ideal setup for his closing kick in a race that visually probably made him look better than he is. Today he’s not likely to get that same speed duel and I’m siding with Awesome Gerry who should get first jump on the wilting speed. Awesome Gerry didn’t have a very good 2021 but has turned it around so far this year to be competitive in these elongated sprint races. He’s won two already this year facing tough competition and last time out he was third to Cody’s Wish who’s one of the top runners at a dirt mile these days. Irad Ortiz replaces Gerard Corrales in the irons and I’m looking for him to make first run.
