Saratoga:
Race 5: 2nd@ 6.60/1
Race 6: 6th@ 15.60/1

In Race 6, Sifting Sands stalked an ambitious early pace set by favored Somelikeithotbrown, took the lead turning for home and away by a few lengths before being engaged by Dynadrive from the rail. The two battled down to the wire to a head-bob photo finish that Dynadrive won. In Race 6, debuting Wadsworth was near the early pace but faded in the drive. After a Saratoga rainstorm, Money Supply raced from off the pace but wasn’t able to catch Saint Tapit for the win checking in fourth. In the big Grade 1 showdown, Life is Good took them gate to wire and Olympiad’s run never materialized and he wasn’t persevered with after about mid-stretch. In the Saratoga Derby, the fast pace didn’t give Sy Dog the setup we had hoped for. He rallied smartly but could do no better than fourth at long odds.

Race 2: SCRATCH
Race 8: 4th@2.50/1
It rained overnight in West Virginia which resulted in races being taken off the turf. After a BEST BET scratch in Race 2 we had Home Brew in the West Virginia Derby but with the sloppy track he never got out of first gear and finished an unthreatening fourth.
Despite losing that tough photo today and taking it on the chin otherwise, we look to close out another profitable week with a Sunday card from Saratoga. We’re handicapping for fast and firm conditions. Here goes!
Sunday at Saratoga:
Race 8: Colorful Mischief - 2 pts win (US Morning Line Odds: 5/2)
Allowance runners go 7 furlongs here. There are a few that appear overmatched and in my opinion this is Colorful Mischief’s race to win or lose. We had her on debut on Kentucky Oaks Friday when she raced on a sloppy, soupy track. That day she chased a wickedly fast pace and rallied late. Her second time out she caught a fast track and got the win over repeat-winner, Gunning. She was stretched out after that and she ran well but that may have been a little too far for her. She should be much better suited to today’s class and distance.
