Saturday’s Race Recap from Saratoga:

(All odds US)

Replays for yesterday’s races from Saratoga can be found here:

Saratoga:

Race 1: 7th@ 13.60/1

Race 3: 2nd@ 2.25/1

Race 4: 2nd@ 5.00/1

Race 5: 1st@ 0.95/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Race 6: 4th@ 3.30/1

Race 11: 2nd@ 22.20/1

In Race 1 at Saratoga, the appropriately-named, Wideright made a wide right turn on the first turn and took one of the favorites out of contention. He made a decent late run but lost all chance by blowing the turn. In Race 3, Jane Grey got to stalk the early pace but wasn’t able to slam the door on Union Lake and checked in 2nd. In Race 4, Veronica Greene was taken back and came with a flying finish to lose by a fast-diminishing neck. In Race 5, Nest blew apart the Grade 1 CCA Oaks winning by more than 12 lengths. In Race 6, Summonyourcourage stalked a fast early pace but had no punch when it counted in the stretch. In Race 11, Seaver led from the gate into mid-stretch when he was overhauled by the 1/1 favorite but continued gamely for 2nd @ 22/1 odds.

Monmouth Park:

(All Odds US)

Replays for yesterday’s races from Monmouth can be found here:

Race 10: 4th@ 5.50/1

Race 12: 1st@ 7.80/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

In the Molly Pitcher, Bonny South lagged behind a slower-than-expected early pace and the odds-on favorite had an easy win on a silver platter. In the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational, Cyberknife was given a perfect trip by rider Florent Geroux waiting behind horses and taking the rail path while gamely sticking his neck out for a head win over Taiba.

Two first place finishes in Grade 1 races along with three runner up finishes (one at 22/1) from eight selections on the day means another profitable day for our win bettors.

We’ll close out a profitable week with a Sunday race card from Saratoga. We’re expecting fast and firm conditions once again but can’t rule out an afternoon thunderstorm. Let’s get started.

Sunday at Saratoga:

Race 6: Vahva - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/1)

Two year old fillies sprint 6 furlongs in this maiden special weight event. None of the runners who have started before inspire much confidence but there are a few first time starters with potential. Vahva is the first timer that intrigues me the most and is likely to offer some value here. Trainer Cherie DeVaux, Chad Brown’s former assistant, wins TONS of races and almost always offers value. She’s got some snappy works at Keeneland and draws top rider Luis Saez. Sired by Gun Runner, who wins with 19% of his first time starters, Vahva also owns this field’s top Tomlinson figure and won’t take as much action at the windows as her counterparts trained by more popular trainers but she’s bred to have talent.

Best of luck to everyone playing Sunday’s races from Saratoga!
