Saturday’s Race Recap from Saratoga:

(All odds US)

Replays for yesterday’s races from Saratoga can be found here:

Saratoga:

Race 3: 4th@ 37.25/1

Race 4: 4th@ 4.80/1

Race 5: 10th@ 29.25/1

Race 9: 8th@ 1.30/1

Race 10: 4th@ 2.20/1

In Race 3, our wild longshot, Succulent was wide around both turns and came with a nice closing run to grab 4th at 37/1 odds. In Race 4, Eagle in Love was taken back and rallied mildly late. In Race 5, Cut the Cord was between horses most of the way but tired late in his turf debut. In Race 9, Fort Ticonderoga had the run of the race off the stretch from a mile but was tentatively ridden in the stretch and was vanned off after the race so we’re hoping he’s all right. In Race 9, Forte was stuck behind runners early and was moving well late but could only manage 4th.

Let’s head back to Saratoga to close the week with a Sunday card. No rain is expected and we are expecting fast and firm racing conditions. Let’s close the curtain on opening week and pick a few bookmaker’s pockets while we do it.

Sunday at Saratoga:

Race 5: Neuro - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 6/1)

New York breds sprint on turf in this allowance race. Neuro is one we might even get a little more than the 6/1 morning line on because trainer Bobby Ribaudo is still looking for his first win of the year but he doesn’t start many anymore and he has a good record with turf sprinters (17% wins). On Thursday he ran a 29/1 shot who finished a strong, closing second in the final race of the day. Neuro has a win on the surface at the distance and this one gets Javier Castellano to ride and he’s the meet’s leading rider so far, only a few days into the meet.

Best of luck to everyone playing Sunday’s races from Saratoga!
