Race 8: SCRATCH

Race 9: 2nd@ 1.25/1

Our day began with our selection in Race 8, Missy Greer, scratching at the gate after running off behind the starting gate so we were left with Summer Promise, in Race 9, the Schuylerville. Jockey Luis Saez moved a little too early on her chasing 30/1 outsider, MusicManSandy and took the lead turning for home but wasn’t able to hold off Just Cindy who sat the perfect trip off the speed duel.

We’re back at Saratoga for Friday’s race card. We’re expecting beautiful weather with a fast main track and a firm turf course. Let’s get to work!

Friday at Saratoga:

Race 9: Set Piece - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)

The Grade 3 Forbidden Apple will be raced at a mile over the inner turf and there should be a fair amount of early pace on here. Set Piece is the one who would benefit from a pace battle as this winner of 10 of 20 starts likes to close from far back. Trainer Brad Cox is winning at 25% on the year and he has his main rider, Florent Geroux riding. I don’t think he’ll be 3/1 but if you’re lucky enough to lock in those odds with you’re bookmaker, do it!
