Race 1: 2nd@ 3.50/1

Race 3: SCRATCH

WildHunch acted up at the gate on debut but broke sharply enough. Unfortunately she was no match for 3/5 favored first time starter, Saloon, who took command on the far turn and never relinquished the lead. Our selection, Steady John, was a scratch from Race 3.

Well, we’ve finally made it. Those boring, gray winter months give way to the Triple Crown season which has officially ended and now we’re ready for opening day at Saratoga In my humble opinion, it’s the best racing meet in the country. Originally opened in 1863, Saratoga has become the premier race meet in the United States. For anyone looking to learn a little more about the history of Saratoga, please click this link:

Enough talk, let’s get to the action. We’ve got a 10 race card to kick off the meet. We’re expecting partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures. Let’s make some MONEY!!

Thursday at Saratoga:

Race 9: Summer Promise - 2 pts win - BEST BET (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)

The Grade 3 Schuylerville is our feature race on today’s opening day card. Two year old fillies race 6 furlongs and 8 of the 9 runners have a 1 for 1 race record with the 9th runner finishing a closing third on debut. After watching replays and doing a little research on the breeding I was blown away by Summer Promise’s debut. She broke from the rail and didn’t break particularly well but had enough early speed to maintain her position and when it came time to run she powered away under a confident ride. She worked a bullet since and she’s bred to improve with added distance as she’s a half to Grade 1 winners Vexatious, Creative Cause and Destin who lost the Belmont Stakes by a nose. Imposing.

Best of luck to everyone playing Thursday’s opening day races from Saratoga!
