Wednesday’s Race Recap from Delaware Park:

(All odds US)

Race replays for yesterday’s races from Delaware Park Dan be found here:

Delaware Park:

Race 3: 2nd@ 2.30/1

Race 8: 1st@ 2.60/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

We began our week with Three Coins looking to carry momentum from a second place finish a few weeks ago here at Delaware to the winner’s circle. Thisnameisokay went to the lead today through an easy pace and with nobody pressing him he was able to catapult away at the top of the stretch. Three Coins ran valiantly and was a clear second but today was the day for Thisnameisokay. In Race 8, Flat Out Flying got the expected pace battle she needed and bounded by the leg-weary leaders in the stretch at 5/2 odds here in the States.

We’re continuing our Belmont Stakes week visit down memory lane. Yesterday we covered the 1997 Belmont Stakes where Touch Gold denied Silver Charm a Triple Crown. Just one year later, Real Quiet would win the Kentucky Derby and Preakness to give the world yet another chance to see that elusive Triple Crown. Victory Gallop had played the role of bridesmaid in the Derby and Preakness and would try to turn the tables on his arch rival in the Belmont Stakes. Here was the outcome in one of the most dramatic finishes you will ever see:

We’ll be heading to Belmont Park for Thursday’s twilight race card. We are expecting some thunderstorms overnight and into the morning. I’m uncertain about how much rain the storms will bring so I’m sticking with dirt races for Thursday. Let’s get to it.

Thursday at Belmont Park:

Race 4: Devil Boy - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 10/1)

New York bred maidens race 6 1/2 furlongs. Devil Boy owns two of this field’s top speed figures, both earned last year. He took money on debut but ran into another well meant runner in River Dog. He came off a year-long layoff last time out and ran like he needed that race. He enters here for a barn that’s 33% with runners second time off a layoff with two fast workouts in his holster. Jose Ortiz rode him last time out and stays here despite the tough race, further bolstering the opinion that he needed a race. Looks live at 10/1 or better.

Best of luck to everyone playing Thursday’s races from Belmont Park!
