With Botta Swing winning the second at Woodbine on Sunday, we are now 9/11 with 2yo debut races, with the winning horse putting up a 4 furlong :12er or below work. Thursday should be interesting with the $200K Kentucky Juvenile Stakes for 2yo’s. We will see how Wesley Ward's Hurricane Debbie does against the boys and Santa Anita shipper Tom’s Regret, a maiden winner by 11 lengths, fares.

It started raining here in Louisville at 8 am and the forecast is calling for the rain to stop and start throughout the day.

Churchill Downs Race 2 – The $160K Isaac Murphy Marathon Overnight Stakes

4yo’s↑ going 12 panels

If the race were run on paper, 1-Lone Rock (3/5) would win without trouble, and frankly, he has a very light slate of four other competitors. 4-Tenfold (5/2), a black type winner of $1.2M has not won in two years, 2-Current (7/2) just won a $34.5K OC at Hawthorne and the rest are outclassed. With that, my hands are staying in my pockets and passing the race.

Churchill Downs Race 7 - $120K Maiden Special

3yo’s↑ going 10 panels

If 1A-Jeeper (7/2) is a go, I will take him. A son of G1 Arkansas Derby winner Overanalyze, he had two races in his two year old season and was put out for four months before returning to Keeneland on April 9 to a sloppy track. In that race, he was checked on the backstretch and got rolling late to get a show check. He had a bullet 1:00 work at Keeneland and is a 26’ long strider, so the extra distance plays into his wheelhouse.

Until tomorrow.

Happy Hunting!
