Wednesday’s Race Recap from Keeneland:

(All odds US)

Replays for yesterday’s races from Keeneland can be found here:

Keeneland:

Race 1: 3rd@ 2.50/1

Race 5: 1st@ 2.80/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

In our first race of the week - Race 1 - Princess Renee stalked the pace but wasn’t able to answer when push came to shove and managed third. In Race 5, NoSilverSpoonsHere went to the lead on debut and never looked back winning off impressively beneath Flavien Prat after dispatching of the 3 horse on the far turn.

We’ll shift our tack to Belmont Park for the opening day of their spring meet. We’re expecting chilly temperatures with a fast main track and a firm turf course. Let’s get to work.

Thursday at Belmont Park:

Race 5: Scherzando - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 20/1)

Looking to open the Belmont meet with some fireworks in these turf sprints. Scherzando owns this field’s fourth highest career speed figure and while that number was earned over a muddy dirt surface, there’s reason to believe this runner can run on grass despite the poor effort he put up in his only race over the turf a little over a year ago. That race was run over a yielding surface and he raced wide. It was the third start of his career and his speed figure matched the dirt speed figures he was putting up at that time. Scherzando is by sire Maclean’s Music whose progeny are effective turf sprinters. His dam won her first start sprinting in the grass and was stakes placed on the lawn as well. This runner has four siblings and three of them did their best running on turf so it must’ve been frustrating to the connections for this one to miss most of last year’s turf season with gun. I’d like to give him another try sprinting on turf at long odds.

Best of luck to everyone playing Thursday’s races from Belmont Park!
