Keeneland:
Race 4: 4th@ 10.20/1
We only picked Race 4 on Wednesday and Late September hopped at the start, was taken five wide on the turn and flattened out, finishing fourth.
For Thursday we’re back at Keeneland with fast and firm conditions expected. I only gave out one selection Wednesday because I didn’t love the race card. Thursday we’ll have a few more picks for those who are looking for some good old US racing action.
Thursday at Keeneland:
Race 9: Shady - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 12/1)
This is a 6 furlong sprint for maiden claimers and with the runners who have already raced looking a bit short on quality so far, I’m opting for the debuting Shady who breaks from the outside post with jockey Luis Saez who’s winning at 21% on the year for trainer Eddie Kenneally who’s winning at 27% for the meet. Last year, Kenneally won with a similar looking runner on debut and he paid nearly 7/1. This one is looking like he may go off at similar odds. Workouts look fine and this one’s dam was within 1/2 length of winning her own debut. Value at 12/1.
Best of luck to everyone playing Thursday’s races from Keeneland!
