Lucky Brody kicked off our April with a second place finish after waiting back early and going three wide on the turn. No real excuses for him there other than trainer Orlando Noda seems to have lost his magic. In Race 4, Sukoon broke a dozen lengths behind the field on debut and rallied strongly for third in what would’ve probably been a winning effort had he not broken so poorly.

It’s Florida Derby Day! It’s Arkansas Derby Day! The premier race days for two meets that will produce at least a few Kentucky Derby entrants in this year’s big race. There’s a 50/50 chance of rain at both tracks so I’ve stayed away from most of the turf races at Gulfstream.
