Thursday’s Race Recap from Fair Grounds:

(All odds US)

No race replays are available for Fair Grounds yet but I invite you to check YouTube for updates under “Fair Grounds Race Replays 2/10/22”

Fair Grounds:

Race 6: 4th@ 5.90/1

Race 7: 3rd@ 1.70/1

Race 9: 7th@ 1.40/1

In our first race of the week - (Race 6 on the program), King Tough was taken too far back off a slow pace and was left with too much to do finishing a closing 4th. In Race 7, Ain’t Broke had every chance to get by Chardonnay but simply couldn’t wear that one down and finally gave it up in the stretch finishing third. In Race 9 we were hoping Sky Factor could steal away to a clear early lead but she was pressed every step of the way, first by Hoodwink and then by Zero Point Zero before they all got passed by Spy a Star for top honors.

A third, a fourth and an off the board finish from three selections was a disappointing return to Fair Grounds for us but at least each horse put forth an effort.

We’ll stay at Fair Grounds for Fridays races. We’re expecting sunny skies and unseasonably mild temperatures with a fast main track and a firm turf course. Let’s get started.

Friday pick for Fair Grounds

Race 8: Harmon Killer Brew - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 9/2)

Turf sprinters go 5 1/2 furlongs here and many of the runners who have already raced on turf have put up very similar numbers. Harmon Killer Brew races for the second time on grass and it’s best to draw a line through that first grass start as he was washed out in the post parade and bumped at the start. He races for a barn that’s 20% with turf sprinters and his races on the main track are above average for this group. Rates a long look at 9/2 odds.

Best of luck to everyone playing Friday’s races from Fair Grounds!
