Racing at Gulfstream Park. Two horses so close it looks like one horse with eight legs.

Gulfstream Park:
Race 9: SCRATCH
Race 10: 9th@ 4.00/1
Race 11: 3rd@ 1.70/1
Race 12: 12th@ 1.00/1
If you watched our video, I gave out a “freebie bonus” selection for Race 5 - the Swale where I gave out the winner - My Prankster - who was lined at 2/1 but was bet down to 1/1 here in the States. I didn’t think he’d offer enough value so I didn’t include him in my regular picks but anyone who watched my video got that one. After a scratch in Race 9, we had Nostalgic in Race 10 going first time turf and she checked on the backstretch losing whatever chance she had. In Race 11, the Holy Bull, our selection - Mo Donegal - stalked the early pace, appeared to lose interest during the race and came flying late to just miss 2nd. In Race 12, Mo Gotcha stalked and seemed to pull up on the far turn checking in last of 12.
Aqueduct:
Replays for yesterday’s races from Aqueduct can be found here:
Race 8: 3rd@ 6.80/1
In the Withers Stakes, Early Voting went out to the early lead and never looked back. Our selection - Gilded Age - made a sustained rally on the far turn and finished third - missing 2nd by a head-bob.
Two third place finishes from 4 selections on the day. Onward.
We’ll stay at Gulfstream to close out the week. Sunny skies and mild temps are expected with fast and firm surfaces. Let’s put a bow around our week with a few bombs.

Sunday pick for Gulfstream Park
Race 11: Versatile - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 20/1)
Maiden claimers go a mile and a sixteenth on the grass and with no world beaters in here I’m taking a chance with Versatile, a runner who was claimed for $100k first time out while running on dirt. They stretched him out after a layoff and he improved his speed figure by 23 points and they placed him on turf most recently where he finished 5th. Today he adds Lasix for the first time for a barn that’s winning at 18% for the meet and has connected with a few longshots already on turf. Five works since his last race should have him plenty legged up and adding Lasix should only help. Our 3/1 morning line favorite’s turf figure is only a point ahead of this one’s. Our morning line second choice hasn’t raced on grass yet and isn’t overwhelmingly bred for it and our third choice on the morning line has a speed figure 16 points behind this one on turf. Bombs away to end the week!
Best of luck to everyone playing Sunday’s races from Gulfstream Park!
