Saturday’s Race Recap:

(All odds US):

Gulfstream Park:

Race 4: 1st@ 1.20/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Our Saturday began with Race 4 at Gulfstream where our first time starter Iron Works stalked the pace and drew away convincingly to win at first asking. I own a small piece of this runner through MyRacehorse.com and thought he looked like a good thing.

Aqueduct:

Replays for yesterday’s races from Aqueduct can be found here:

Race 7: 4th@ 4.40/1

Race 9: 7th@ 6.90/1

In Race 7 at Aqueduct, Grudge battled for the early lead but tired to fourth in the stretch. In Race 9, Celine the Queen ran similarly to her stablemate, Grudge. She pressed the pace and tired in the lane.

Oaklawn Park:

Race 6: 9th@ 3.20/1

Race 8: 2nd@ 1.80/1

Race 9: SCRATCH

In Race 6 at Oaklawn, Dolly Dimples never got a call. Was mid-pack and never fired off that long layoff. Miss Bigly got a good trip off the speed of Coach and took her shot but was denied in the stretch. Our selection in Race 9 was a SCRATCH.

Fair Grounds:

Race 9: 2nd@ 1.40/1

In Race 9 at Fair Grounds, Mr. Elvin broke well and put away two challengers but wasn’t able to turn back Gutsy and had to settle for second.

A win, two seconds and a fourth from six picks on the day.

We’ll take a look at a few races from Aqueduct and Gulfstream for Sunday. Rain in the forecast for both locations. Let’s get it going.

Sunday pick for Aqueduct:

Race 2: Black Irish - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/1)

Claimers sprint 6 furlongs here and with rain in the forecast for later in the day, I’m going under the impression they’ll have the track sealed and if that’s the case, inside speed should benefit. Black Irish has that distinction and he’s running third time off a layoff which many times produces a runner’s best effort. This one drops in class to the lowest level of his career as he races on the track where he collected his win, at this distance.

Best of luck to everyone playing Sunday’s races from Aqueduct and Gulfstream!
