Friday 1.7 Gulfstream Park Pick: God's Tipster's Best Bet is a Shug filly in the 8th race

Gulfstream Park:

Race 3: 4th@ 8.80/1

Race 9: 7th@ 3.20/1

We only had two selections on the day. Miss Italy didn’t exactly get a hot pace to close into. Made a move turning for home and finished a non threatening 4th. In Race 9, Henry’s World raced on synthetic instead of turf after rain the other day softened the turf course. That’s been the bane of our week as he made the lead and tired readily turning for home.

We’re back at Gulfstream for Friday’s races. Fast and firm conditions are expected. Once I weeded out the polytrack races and races with multiple runners starting on Lasix we’re left with Races 8, 9 and 10. Let’s kick off the weekend on a winning note!

Race 8: Join the Dots - 2 pts win - BEST BET (US Morning Line Odds: 9/5)

Trainer Shug McGaughey has come to this Gulfstream meet loaded for bear and he’s only shipped winners south from NY to South Florida. Kathleen O started the festivities on Saturday with an emphatic win in the Cash Run and Scalding picked up the baton from that one winning a maiden race on Wednesday at Gulfstream off a recent second place finish in New York. Join the Dots looks to make it a party as she ships south off an emphatic maiden win on debut back in October. This expensive Miss has worked six times since that debut effort. If she runs back to that race she will be tough. Horses like these typically improve in their second start and if she does the rest are running for second.
