Gulfstream Park:
Race 4: Please the Pharoah - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/1
Turf marathoners go a mile and three eighths in this maiden race and North Carolina will take most of the money here based on his most recent start and a perceived pace advantage, however there’s more speed in here than meets the eye and certainly more than he faced last time out. Please the Pharoah exits that same race and was rolling late into that slow pace the aforementioned North Carolina set. Today he gets more distance and more pace to close into. Trainer John Kimmel has a good record with turf maidens at Gulfstream Park and used a similar move while training stakes winner - Crystalle - taking blinkers off while stretching out - and it resulted in a win. He owns the top speed figure on this surface and 8/1 looks like good value.
Race 5: Harry’s Ontheloose - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 7/2)
Sprinters go 5 1/2 furlongs over the polytrack here and our selection is likely to be one of a few speeds in here. This runner is making his second career start over the polytrack surface today and in his first start, he hooked a few of the faster horses you’ll find on the grounds - Wind of Change being one of those. He doesn’t appear he’ll face the same type of pace pressure today and he will have inside positioning. Trainer Liz Dobles has won with a whopping 26% of her synthetic runners.

Race 9: Centsless Drama - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 12/1
Turf runners go a mile on the lawn here and while there may be a few in here with some early foot, none appear to be faster than Centsless Drama who has led from the opening call of 8 of her last 12 starts. Trainer Carlos Davis is struggling a bit at the meet but wins with 23% of his turf runners and when Emisial Jaramillo rides for him he wins 26% of the time. This runner already owns two wins over the surface and distance and is a gate to wire threat at 12/1 odds.
Best of luck to everyone playing Wednesday’s races from Gulfstream Park!
