Thursday 12.23 Gulfstream Park Picks: God's Tipster handicaps the 1st, 4th, 6th & 7th races from sunny Florida
Wednesday’s Race Recap from Gulfstream Park:
(All odds US)
Replays for yesterday’s races from Gulfstream Park are below:
Race 5: 4th@ 2.50/1
Race 6: 1st@ 1.40/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Race 7: 2nd@ 3.40/1
We began our week with Star Sign - our morning line 12/1 shot who took a TON of money to be bet all the way down to 5/2. He got the stalking trip we were looking for and made the move into contention turning for home but flattened out badly managing fourth. In Race 6 we got our revenge as another runner who got bet down from her 9/2 morning line, Trevess, got the perfect trip off the speed to win off at an underlaid 7/5 here in the States. Am hoping our European followers locked in 9/2 odds early. In Race 7, Katz a Dream stalked the pace, switched out and fought on well but came up 1/2 length shy for the win finishing second.
Another win, a close second and a fourth place finish from three selections on the day.
We’ll stay right here at Gulfstream for Thursday’s races. We expect a fast main track and a firm turf course beneath sunny skies. Here we go!
Thursday picks for Gulfstream Park:
Race 1: La Bokaina - 2 pts win - BEST BET (US Morning Line Odds: 5/2)
We’ll start our Thursday with 2yo fillies sprinting five furlongs on synthetic. Our selection, La Bokaina, has the highest speed figure in the field by two points over We’ve Had Enough, but the difference is that runner put up that number in July and has followed it up with 6 subpar efforts while La Bokaina put up her speed figure in her most recent start. A 30% trainer adds to the appeal. There are a few first time starters in here that might be anything but if you can lock in 5/2 odds with your bookmaker this runner offers excellent value as she will be much lower in the States.
Race 4: Ubiquitous - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)
Maidens sprint 6 furlongs here and when last seen, Ubiquitous was being canned off the track after losing as the even money favorite on a sloppy track in a similar spot. Since then he’s had 6 workouts, several of them were snappy and he’s entered with blinkers added for a barn that’s 25% when starting a horse with blinkers for the first time. He does not show up for sale today so his trainer’s vote of confidence is good enough for me. Value at 3/1 odds.

Race 6: Drifaros - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/1)
Maiden optional claimers sprint six furlongs here and there are a few in here that look like they might be able to contend. Drifaros is one who might offer some value as she races for lower profile connections, but she’s had a strong series of workouts and her Nov. 4 workout matches a first out winner named Shastree who races for these same connections and debuted with a winning speed figure of 71. An effort like that one would be awfully tough against these.
Race 7: Creative Cloud - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)
One final sprint to cap off our day and our likely favorite is Raise the Rent despite his 7/2 morning line odds. After viewing his most recent race replay, he’s not someone I will be playing here. There’s more speed signed on than meets the eye and that should set the table for someone to come from off the pace. When last seen racing at this distance, Creative Cloud was drawing off to an emphatic 4 length win over this surface. That was also the last time he had this rider aboard. Barn is 25% putting blinkers on for the first time. This is the second runner of the day we’re using from the Saffie Joseph barn using this angle.
Good luck to everyone playing Thursday’s races from Gulfstream!
