Thursday’s Race Recap from Aqueduct:

(All odds US)

Race replays for yesterday’s races from Aqueduct can be found here:

Aqueduct:

Race 1: 7th@ 52.00/1

Race 3: 3rd@ 9.40/1

Race 4: 1st@ 2.40/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

We started our week in Race 1 with a huge longshot - Keen Dancer. Took a shot with the move to blinkers on but she was overmatched and checked in 8th. In Race 3, Addilyn raced inside til the turn, angled out at the 3/16ths pole and closed mildly for third. We got our WIN in Race 4 as Noble Thought overpowered Magnetron in the stretch - wearing that one down to win by a neck.

Let’s get back to Aqueduct for some Friday racing action. We’re expecting similar track conditions to todays races. Let’s get to the action.

Friday picks for Aqueduct:

Race 4: Our American Star - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 20/1)

Lots of speed signed up for this 6 furlongs claiming race and Our American Star has the best closing kick. That’s the basis of my argument in favor of this runner at long odds. 2 for 62 lifetime with low profile connections so we’ll get every bit of 30/1 odds but both of those wins came at this distance and one of them came here at Aqueduct with his most recent win happening just four starts ago. His best races happen when there’s speed to set up his closing kick and he will have plenty of it here. Bombs away to start our Friday!

Race 6: Amity Island - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 6/1)

NY bred fillies and mares race a mile and Amity Island races for some strong local connections with trainer Horacio DePaz and owner Michael Dubb. Claimed two starts ago, she was put near the lead last time out but weakened late. This time she gets a rider change and they put blinkers on. Three workouts since her most recent start and this one should be ready. Her career win came over this surface eleven months ago at this very distance.

Race 8: Wicked Karma - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 15/1)

Lower level NY Bred maiden claimers go a mile here and they’re a pretty weak looking group. Lots of times these are the types of races that produce wild longshots and we’re taking a shot with Wicked Karma who drops to the lowest level of his career. He’s been campaigned primarily on turf to this point despite the fact that he’s not bred for that surface. His most recent race on the main track was decent enough - he dueled with the eventual winner and faded to fourth. There’s not much speed signed on here and he just may get a flyer on the lead. Blinkers on and a snappy 3 furlong workout tell me this one is the one they’ll have to run down to win.

Best of luck to everyone playing Friday’s races from Aqueduct!
