Part II of the Kentucky Derby and Oaks trail starts today. It was Thanksgiving Day until the showers drenched the oval in Louisville, yet we did get an outstanding result from All In Sync, who stalked the pace on a sloppy, sealed track and was game coming home to win going away with a 90 Equibase score. The son of Maclean’s Music by Giralamo was sent off as the favorite. The runner-up, Art Heist, will be one to keep an eye on as he was full of fight down the lane.

I will keep you updated as things progress

Race 5 Fair Grounds - $45K Maiden Special

2yo fillies going a mile and a sixteenth

Equibase rates this as a 74 and only two horses today have a chance at that number. 2-Majestic Union (7/1) has a race under her belt and hit a 56 Equibase score in that at low odds in the betting. That race was against a marginal group and Union Rags fillies are 0/6 in this circumstance. I will pass. Fannie And Freddie (3/1) is today’s selection as she was a better than looked seventh on debut at Saratoga getting beat up at the gate and a wide trip throughout, still managed to be near the leader by four lengths. She garnered a 74 Equibase number that day and flopped in her next. She has had three freshening’s leading into this and first time Lasix an interesting add.

Race 7 Fair Grounds - $45K Maiden Special

2yo’s going six furlongs

Spendthrift ownership entries of 1-Underhill’s Tab and 1a-Prather (3/1) come into this with some muscle having a Unified/Saint Ballado and Into Mischief/Gilded Time tandems. The more playable one is Prather, who was eased from the slop last out after running near the lead the quarter mile. Today he gets a cutback and two good works under his belt coming in. Asmussen a strong 32% with second starting two year old colts. 3-Gran Muchaco (8/1) is not to be ruled out after the barn switch to 25% Elias Lopez with two year olds. A :36.6 and :48.4 work before shipping south confirms condition and his sire Nyquist is an excellent 25% winner with these conditions. Use underneath. 5-Boss Dialin In (4/1) is trained by 16% first time winner Joe Duhon who has this Dialed In colt tuned up with two bullet works coming in. Dialed In progeny 13% with first timers. I am going to stay with the entry in this one.

Happy Hunting 😊
