Halloween Churchill Downs Picks: God's Tipster looks to scare up 2yo winners on Stars of Tomorrow race card

First post is 1 pm EDT.

Saturday’s Race Recap from Belmont Park:

(All odds US)

Race replays for yesterday’s races Belmont Park can be found here:

Belmont Park:

Race 3: 6th@ 42.50/1

Race 5: 4th@ 7.00/1

Race 7: 5th@ 10.30/1

Race 8: 1st@ 16.20/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

We began our day with Sundaeswithsandy in the Sleep Hollow Stakes. I purposely picked a few bigger prices today and this was the biggest price of all. He sat behind the leaders getting mud kicked at him and never mustered a rally at long odds. In Race 5, Foolish Ghost was a handful to put into the starting gate but once the gates opened he blasted away. Things were looking good til the heavy favorite ranged up and blew by. Foolish Ghost faded to fourth. In Race 7, Classic Lynne stalked the early leaders and took the lead briefly turning for home before fading in the drive. In Race 8, Sharp Starr was taken off the pace early - a change in tactics for her - we noted those seven workouts in between races and that’s probably what that was about. Sharp Starr was taken off a spirited early pace and was expertly handled by Jose Ortiz. She gained momentum around the turn and blew by the leaders in the stretch at generous 16/1 odds here in the States.

Saturday’s Race Recap from Keeneland:

(All odds US)

Race replays for yesterday’s races from Keeneland can be found here:

Race 7: 4th@ 4.60/1

Race 9: 4th@ 4.60/1

Race 10: 1st@ 0.40/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Freelancer got our Saturday started at Keeneland in Race 7. He stalked the pace, was in between horses turning for home and tired in the stretch. In the Fayette Stakes, Night Ops didn’t look like he liked the muddy conditions at all and never mustered a rally. In the final race of the day, Famed - our free square - took care of business with a smart - wire to wire score winning by nearly 10 lengths. Am hoping a few of our members were able to lock in the 6/5 morning line odds early as she went off at 2/5 here in the States.

Happy Halloween!

To all our members. While the kids are filling their bags with candy let’s fill our bags with money. With Sharp Starr’s win in Race 8 at Belmont we ensured another profitable month for our service.

For Sunday we’re headed to Churchill Downs for their “Stars of Tomorrow” race card. This is an entire card filled with two-year-old races and we’re excited to take part. We expect fast conditions beneath sunny skies.

Sunday picks for Churchill Downs:

Race 1: Hitting Bombs - 1 pt win (Us Morning Line Odds: 7/2)

Maidens race a mile and a sixteenth here and our pace is likely to be supplied by Rewire and Frosty Dreams. Trademark should be up close early as well. Only a handful in here have actually raced today’s 1 1/16th distance and Hitting Bombs is one of those. He gets blinkers on today which should put him a little closer to the pace. Blinkers on is a move trainer Brian Lynch wins with 20% of the time. This runner has taken play both times he’s raced so someone obviously thinks he’s shown some promise in the mornings. Looking for him to pick up the pieces in the stretch.

Race 3: Chasing Time - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)

Disclaimer: I own a small piece of this runner so maybe I’m biased. Here’s one who should go off lower than the 3/1 morning line so if you can lock it in I would encourage you to do so. This runner raced greenly first time out when bet down to even money favoritism. Should benefit from that start. From a speed figure standpoint he lays over the runners that have started already. Colt has been working well and gets new rider for this race.

Race 5: Sandstone - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 5/2)

Two-year-old fillies line up for the Rags to Riches Stakes. Our morning line favorite - Yuugiri won off impressively first time out when you view the past performances but visually she wasn’t as impressive and the field she beat lacked the talent some others in here have faced. Sandstone ran a mile here in the second start of her career and ran a hole in the wind last time out winning by 9 lengths after pressing a fast pace. She’s one of a bevy of Kenny McPeek two year old runners who have blossomed in Kentucky this fall. She should sit the right trip off the speed and get first run turning for home.

Race 6: Camaraderie - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 12/1)

Maidens run a mile and a sixteenth here and of the ones who have raced before, none have been overly impressive so I’m willing to take a shot here with Camaraderie for low profile connections who are only 2 for 40 on the year but have won with 3 of 12 runners (25%) over the last five years stretching out from sprint races. This runner dropped back early on debut and put in an eye catching late move. The 11.70 final fraction she put up was the fastest of the 12 runners that day by a pretty wide margin so it looks like her light bulb went on late for this one. With added ground she’s a definite play at 12/1 or higher.

Best of luck to everyone playing Sunday’s races from Churchill Downs!
