Belmont Park Thursday: God's Tipster picks the 1st race, a sprint for claimers

After a vet scratch in Race 2, we led off the week with a non-effort from Mutakaamil who stalked the Race 3 pace and backed up before the real running began as the 1/1 favorite. In Race 4, Dario’s Angel broke slowly and made a mild bid on the turn but never contended. First time starters can sometimes need a race or two under their belts before they flourish and this one will likely need several.
We’ll head to Belmont Park for Thursday’s race card. We expect fast and firm conditions beneath sunny skies. Let’s get to the action:

Race 1: Wicked Amber - 1 pt win (Us Morning Line Odds: 8/1)
Claimers lead off our day and the 6 1/2 furlong distance is a trip that only one runner has won at before - a 20/1 rank outsider. Since many of these have been running similar races time after time, I’m going with a new face here that I feel might benefit from a quick pace and the fact that many of these may not like this distance. Wicked Amber has been facing MUCH better while racing on turf in her last 6 tries. Her turf races actually aren’t as bad as they like and she’s actually cracked the 80 speed figure mark on turf several times giving her the three best lifetime speed figures in the field. When analyzing her dirt races from earlier this year they fit with these. Sure, she’ll need some lace to run at but between the class relief and a potential early pace battle I’d like to see 8/1 on Wicked Amber.
