Delaware Park Wednesday: God's Tipster has picks in races 2, 3 and 4, including a morning line 8/1 shot

The 2nd race at Delaware Park goes off at 1:45 pm EDT.

It’s looking like it’ll be a beautiful Wednesday here in New York. We’ve handicapped races from Delaware Park which is roughly three-and-a-half hours south of us and we expect fast and firm conditions beneath sunny skies.

Enough talk. After two days off, I’ve got the itch.

Let’s get to some exciting racing action !

Wednesday picks for Delaware Park:

Race 2: Dilly Dilly Philly - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 9/5)

Starting our week off with a sprint for filly claimers and let’s be honest, nobody’s getting rich at 9/5 but in this case, 9/5 offers value on a horse I feel will be 4/5 here in the States. This runner drops in class to a career low-level for a trainer who wins at a rate of 36% first time off a claim. Jamie Ness is winning at 27% on the meet and her pairs up with rider - Rodriguez with whom he wins at 29%. This runner has BY FAR the fastest early speed in the field and will be tough to run down with nobody pressing her early.

Race 3: Mutakaamil - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)

Turf maiden claimers race here and Mutakaamil has raced on dirt recently at Gulfstream and ships in for trainer Victor Barboza who’s 3 for 8 with 2 second place finishes. This runner has far and away the best turf speed figures by about 9 points and that is a significant edge in a race like this. 3/1 morning line will be more like 9/5 by the time the gates open so if you can lock down 3/1 odds you’re getting value here.

Race 4: Dario’s Angel - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/1)

Maiden special weight runners sprint on the main track here. The ones who have raced before haven’t inspired much confidence but there’s an intriguing first time starter named Dario’s Angel who’s lined at 8/1 that I feel will take more money than that. Dario’s Angel has been working pretty regularly since May to prepare for this debut. Trainer Greg Sacco is 3 for 9 at the meet for a 33% win percentage. He wins with 22% of his first time starters so he knows what to do when he’s got one who can run. This runner’s dam has produced 8 other runners – two of them won first time out and another lost by a nose first time out. A fourth sibling is King for a Day who won two Stakes races and was the first to defeat Maximum Security. A special shout-out to my friend Dario who I know is pulling for this one. I’m excited to see if this first time starter can live up to her bloodlines and won’t have to be much to topple these.

Best of luck to everyone playing Wednesday’s races from Delaware Park!!!
