Churchill Downs Thursday Night: God's Tipster picks the 7th race with allowance sprinters

Wednesday’s Race Recap from Delaware Park:

Race 3: 1st@ 9.60/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Race 5: 2nd@ 1.80/1

Race 8: 3rd@ 19.40/1

We began the day with Mining Chrome, a first time starter in Race 3 whose trainer had run a first time starter earlier this year for the same ownership group with the same rider, sired by the same sire (California Chrome) to win a maiden claimer race by 5+ lengths. I liked the fact that they didn’t enter this runner in a maiden claimer where they might’ve lost him to another owner and our risk paid off at generous 9.60/1 odds. I was happy to hear that several of our members got odds of 14/1 with their bookmakers on this one. In Race 5, we sided with the experienced runner - Three Coins who was bet down from an 8/1 morning line to 9/5 odds (which is always nice for our European bettors who can lock in an 8/1 morning line). Three Coins closed well for 2nd but was unable to catch the loose leader and favorite - Kinda Lucky. In Race 8 we went with another first time starter - Nothingmakesense and after breaking last in the field, she ranged into contention very professionally and battled bravely to the line beaten about two lengths for all the marbles at 19/1 odds.

Solid runs from all three runners today.

We were going to take a trip out to Belmont Park but with rain at 50/50 and an abundance of turf races (which may get washed off if it rains enough) we’re going to instead look at Churchill Downs’s race card for Thursday.

Thursday pick for Churchill Downs:

Race 7: Jungle Juice - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 10/1)

Allowance sprinters line up here and our morning line favorite is Perfect Happiness who has finished second in 6 of 12 starts. With that kind of resume on a favorite we elected to look elsewhere. Jungle Juice raced this past Saturday evening here at Churchill Downs where she finished a strong 4th behind a few of the top female sprinters in the country - Sconsin, Bell’s the One and Mundaye Call. Any one of those would be odds on here. Trainer Anna Meah employed these same tactics earlier this year giving this one a 5-day break after finishing 6th to Bell’s the One and Sconsin back in June before winning here at Churchill Downs in a similar type race at odds of nearly 12/1. With two wins at the track and two wins at the distance, Jungle Juice offers solid value at 10/1 odds or better.
