Delaware Park Wednesday: God's Tipster has picks for the 1st, 3rd and 7th races including a turf longshot
Good morning racing fans, we’re starting another exciting week of racing action with a few races from Delaware Park on Wednesday before we check out Belmont Park and Churchill Downs Thursday through Sunday. We are expecting fast and firm conditions at Delaware Park beneath sunny skies and mild temperatures. Let’s get this party started!
Wednesday Picks for Delaware Park:
Race 1: Moon Me Again - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)
We start our week with lower-level claimers and with runners like these, form can be a bit untrustworthy but there are several reasons I like Moon Me Again here at 3/1 odds. She’s the only runner in the field with a win at this track AND distance. She’s also got the most consistent speed figures over her two most recent starts as others in here are either much lower or on a roller coaster. She has improved her speed figure in each of her last three starts and her two most recent starts she had today’s pilot aboard. Finally, from a pace standpoint it looks like this race may fall into her lap. With speed drawn to her inside and outside, she stands the best chance to pick up the pieces from an early pace battle.
Race 3: Powerful Force - 1 pt win (Us Morning Line Odds: 3/1)
Turf maidens race here and in a field of 10 there’s only one runner who has actually ever raced on turf before and that’s Powerful Force. Our selection ran well enough that day back in June at Belmont Park and took money making her first start. Today she gets blinkers on for a 17% trainer and really should benefit from the move from dirt back to turf. Having that start over the surface should give her a decided advantage over her foes here but in case you needed more, she’s also got the most experience of the runners in today’s field with three starts under her belt. 40% of this field has never raced before and 20% have only run once. At a route of ground that’s a big advantage to have.

Race 7: Sprite’s Lady - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 15/1)
Claimers race on turf here and Sprite’s Lady is the kind of under-the-radar horse we love. She has only raced once on turf - two races back - and that lone turf start actually produced this field’s ALL TIME top turf speed figure. She was 2nd at 41/1 odds that day on this same track. She lands the meet’s top rider by a wide margin and her form is a bit muddied up with all those poor main track efforts floating around that nice turf start. I think the morning line for this race is going to prove inaccurate and here in the States she’ll probably be 5/1 or 6/1 so if you can get anything near 15/1 on her she offers tremendous value.
