Race 2: 4th@ 8.00/1
Race 7: 1st@ 3.90/1 🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼
Race 8: 4th@ 3.20/1
Mr. Kringle took advantage of a tiring front runner making a left turn into the rail en route to a nice victory. Hoping a few of our members got the juicy 6/1 morning line odds. Queentigua and Irish Valor weren’t up to the task in races 2 and 8.
I touched down in Saratoga this afternoon and plan on taking in tomorrow’s races live. Let’s get to work!
Friday picks for Saratoga:
Race 4: Jalen Journey - 1 pt win - US Morning Line Odds: 5/2)
Sprinters kick off our day in this tough little allowance race. Jalen Journey faced some of the best in the world back in March when he finished 10th in the Grade 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen. He returned and checked sharply in his next start losing all chance. He returned with two powerhouse performances - a win and a second place finish to Montauk Traffic who subsequently finished a strong 4th in last Saturday’s Grade 1 Vanderbilt Stakes. Projects to be tough to gun down from the rail post.
Race 5: Thegoddessofsnakes - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 12/1)
Maiden claimers line up to race 7 furlongs and our likely favorites are coming off layoffs and dropping in class for trainer Chad Brown. Neither showed much in their efforts so far on the main track so I wanted to give Thegoddessofsnakes a bit of a look here. At first glance her running line from her debut are not too pretty, but she’s only raced once and that was almost a year ago. Trainer Chad Summers can pop with longshots and this one gets Lasix for the first time. What attracted my attention the most was her workouts. She has a 47.3 quick half mile drill on May 12 and another, even faster drill on July 21 – 47 seconds flat from the gate which was the fastest of 39 working that morning. This work caught the attention of some clockers who commented that she was well within herself and looks much improved from her ugly debut. A live longshot.

Race 7: Public Sector - 2 pts win - BEST BET (US Morning Line Odds: 2/1)
Grade 2 National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes at a mile on grass for three year olds and trainer Chad Brown is just starting to heat up with his turf runners after a slow start. Public Sector looks like he’ll get a nice trip sitting off several early speed types in here and has a win on this surface and at the distance. Bet him to cash.
Race 8: Art Collector - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)
The Alydar Stakes at a mile and a furlong attracts an interesting field - perhaps the most interesting is Art Collector who was pointing to last year’s Kentucky Derby and was many people’s favorite to win before he spiked a fever and was declared from the race. After a fourth place finish in the Preakness and an 8th place finish in the Breeder’s Cup Dirt Mile he returned with a 6th place finish against a crack group of sprinters in Kentucky. Today he stretches back to a distance he’s 2 for 2 at and should own the best early speed of these.
Race 9: Casa Creed - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 9/2)
Turf sprinters square off here in the Grade 3 Troy Stakes and the last time we saw Casa Creed he was winning his first Grade 1 race on Belmont Stakes day in the Jaipur turf sprint. He was ULTRA impressive that day chasing a reasonable pace before mowing down the field line they were standing still. Today he gets more pace to chase and will be motoring late. He’s got a win at this track where he won the Hall of Fame Stakes back in 2019 (which happens to be today’s feature race). Ever since they started cutting this runner back from longer races it’s sharpened his closing kick.
Best of luck 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀 to everyone playing Friday’s races from Saratoga!!
