Saratoga:
Race 5: 2nd@ 1.85/1
Race 7: 7th@ 0.80/1
Race 9: 4th@ 3.10/1
Race 10: 4th@ 7.90/1
We started the week with a tough beat as our selection - Funwhileitlasted looked to be home free in the stretch but got caught at the wire by Sport Model. In Race 7 Montauk Daddy popped and stopped as he led into the stretch before giving up the ghost to a bevy of longshots. In Races 9 & 10 both Bodecream and Come Storming chugged along for fourth.
Moving on to Saratoga’s Thursday card where we expect fast and firm conditions again. Let’s get to work:
Thursday picks for Saratoga:
Race 2: Queentigua - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/1)
Weak looking field of maiden claimers and it’s quite possible the first time starter - Moon Over NY is better than these but I prefer to go with the proven commodity in Queentigua who admittedly has had plenty of chances but now appears to be the speed closest to the rail. Low profile connections will ensure an honest price and she ran a solid race at 52.50/1 the last time today’s jockey was aboard, finishing third that day. Bombs away to start the day!

Race 7: Mr. Kringle - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 6/1)
Turf runners race a mile and this looks to be a pretty evenly matched group. Mr. Kringle is 2 for 2 in the ninth here at Saratoga and is 3 for 5 in the money at this distance. His form is a bit muddied up recently with “jostled early 5 wide,” “bumped after break and taken up” and “blocked / steadied” showing in his last three running lines. With a cleaner trip today he could be the one at a generous price.
Race 8: Irish Valor - 1 pt win - (US Morning Line Odds: 4/1)
A field full of runners with early speed and many of them going a route of ground for the first time. Irish Valor has the highest speed figure at the distance by ten points and appears to have a pace advantage as most of these will be banging heads on the lead. Irish Valor has a second place finish on this surface at this distance and if he puts up a similar number will be tough to deny from off the pace.
Good luck 🍀🍀🍀 to everyone playing Thursday’s races from Saratoga !
