Wednesday at Saratoga: God's Tipster picks three races on the card

Welcome to another exciting day of racing from beautiful Saratoga. We expect sunny skies with a fast main track and a firm turf course but as we saw on Sunday the weather at Saratoga can change on a dime so keep your eye on the forecast.

Let’s get to work:

Saratoga: Race 5: Raw Courage - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 4/1)

Turf runners line up to run a mile and a sixteenth and trainer Jorge Abreu wins at 20% with his first time turf runners. He’s tried twice so far, unsuccessfully, to get this one into grass races only to have those races rained off. We’re hoping the third time is the charm here and Raw Courage gets his chance. His Tomlinson figures say he should relish it.

Race 7: Tamahere - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/5)

Chad Brown’s starting to heat up. The meet’s perennial leader who excels in turf races has this runner who drops from Grade 1 Stakes company. Tamahere outclasses most of these and packs a mean closing kick. Should be moving fastest late.

Race 10: Prayer Book - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)

Turf runners close out our day in this maiden claiming event and Prayer Book runs for trainer Todd Pletcher who gets more notoriety for his dirt runners but does OK with turf runners too winning with 24% of dirt to turf starters and 23% of runners dropping into the maiden claiming ranks. Some lofty figures for a runner who also attracts the meet's top rider.
