Saturday Horse Racing: God's Tipster has 5 picks for races at Gulfstream Park and Belmont
The first race at Gulfstream Park goes off at 12:20 pm EDT.
Good morning members. Saturday we’re doing a split between Gulfstream Park and Belmont where we’ll have fast and firm conditions at both locales. Let’s take a look at what we have.
Race 1: Divert - 2 pts win (US Morning Line Odds: 5/2)
We’re firing away with Divert to start the day. With Here Comes Bullet and Macho Real looking like the speed here, Divert is coming out of a race where he was 5 lengths clear of the third place runner and kept fighting til the end of a mile race. With a pace in front of him he looks like he’ll be tough to deny if he can run back to his most recent start.
Race 3: Lunar Blast - 2 pts win (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)
Maiden claimers sprint 6 furlongs here and this race looks to have two main contenders: Cozy Cafe and Lunar Blast. Cozy Cafe is coming off a January layoff for a trainer who’s 1 for 33 off similar layoffs so we’re siding with the recency edge Lunar Blast brings to the party. In his most recent start he was up and on the pace and gave way grudgingly. A similar effort here would make him tough to beat.
Race 10: Tonalist’s Shape - 4 pts win - BEST BET (US Morning Line Odds: 9/5)
Allowance optional claiming race for fillies and mares sprinting 7 furlongs and Tonalist’s Shape comes into this spot from the white-hot barn of Saffie Joseph who’s winning at a 30% rate. A winner of 6 of 10 starts and a multiple graded stakes winner over this course, Tonalist’s shape has a 5 for 6 record here at Gulfstream. She fires fresh off a layoff and has been working with purpose.

Race 5: Taino - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/1)
We come to Belmont for two bigger prices on the day and this is a field full of untrustworthy runners. Speed and fades, layoff runners, horses coming off inflated efforts over sloppy tracks, you get the picture. It’s worth taking a shot on one of the new faces. Taino won first out going away after chasing a fast pace. In his second stat he was blitzed by Dr. K. who ran away and hid that day. He’s been laid off and recently gelded. Workout pattern moms strong enough. He should have plenty of pace to close into.
Race 8: Out First - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 10/1)
Evenly matched group of NY-bred fillies sprint here and the pace looks like it’ll be hot here so we’re siding with the runner with the strongest closing speed figure in the group - Out First. Last out she finished a closing third on turf in a race that didn’t have much pace. Trainer Jim Ryerson has won with 2 of 3 mounts he’s given Jose Lezcano this meet and they’re 17% together on the year. 10-1 looks good to me.
Best of luck 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀 to all our members playing Saturday’s races from Gulfstream Park and Belmont.
