We started Kentucky Derby weekend with a few winners. Led off our day in Race 4 with Illiogami, a grey filly, closing from the back of the back to gobble up her competition just as she did last time out. In Race 5, Big Dreaming spent more time fighting his rider than anything and that didn’t result in a good outcome for us. The most disappointing effort came from Aunt Pearl in Race 7, but word came back that she bled. Hopefully she comes back healthy enough to race again. In Race 9 we struck again with a grey filly closing from the clouds when Obligatory, who lagged in last place early on, roared past favored - Dayoutoftheoffice to win for us at 16.50-1. In our final race of the day, The Kentucky Oaks, Clairiere ran her race but could do no better than 4th.
