Wednesday Horse Racing: God's Tipster returns to pick the 1st and 5th at Keeneland

Snow expected overnight, but surface should be firm for racing.

Good morning Betting Gods team. We’re back to kick off another exciting week of racing and we’ll start with races from Keeneland where it’s actually supposed to snow a little overnight. I’m guessing the track condition will be fast by 1 pm post time though. Let’s get to work!!

Keeneland:

Race 1: Lake Nakuru - 1 pt win

We start off the week with a marathon 1 1/2 mile turf allowance race and our likely favorite is Yamato but there are a few holes in his game, most obviously is his most recent start where he put up the white flag in the lane of a similar mile-and-a-half race at Gulfstream Park at odds of 2.70-1. His trainer and jockey aren’t doing well this meet so I’m taking a shot with Lake Nakuru who reunites with jockey Rafael Bejerano with whom he’s scored four of his career best top 5 speed figures with. Is bred to run all day and will be a square price.

Race 5: Weather Prayer - 1 pt win

Maidens race a mile on turf and once again we’re shooting for the stars with a longshot. Our likely favorites haven’t exactly produced unstoppable speed figures thus far and that leaves the door open for some creativity. Trainer Ignacio Correas is winning at 22% at the meet so far and has had 5 of 9 runners hit the board so he’s placing his stock where they’ll run well, but he’s an unheralded trainer and won’t take much attention at the windows. Jockey James Graham connected with a few longshot runners last week here at Keeneland and together they’ve combined for a 23% win percentage this year. Interesting to note this runner was only two lengths behind 7/2 runner Snow House last time out and our odds are 20-1 morning line. Value play.

Best of luck 🍀🍀🍀 to all our members playing Wednesday’s races from Keeneland

Sunday’s Race Recap from Gulfstream Park:

Race 5: 6th@ 7.60-1 (US)

Race 7: 7th@ 10.70-1 (US)

Race 10: 1st@ 2-5 (US) - BEST BET 🔥🔥

Tough breaks this weekend. Literally. Many of our selections broke from the gate near the back of the pack which will never helps matters. That was the case for Miss Domina in Race 5. She did range up and had every chance to win but flattened out late. In Race 7, we needed Blakenstein to break on top and he did not. Not much of a showing there. In Race 10, our day’s best bet - Don V. actually broke first and, in the words of track announcer Peter Aiello, “made 2-5 look like eeeeeeasy money.”
