Race 10: SCRATCH
Well, we kept our BEST BET win streak alive. Make that 5 straight race days where our BEST BET was victorious dating back to last Saturday. Gunman was our BEST BET for Friday and, after three untimely scratches, his price dropped severely (I guess he scared away the competition). Less than 5 minutes later, we hit with Race 1 at Keeneland when Predetermined- off a 5-1 morning line - won for fun after blowing the start. In Race 8 at Gulfstream, Super Strong was not. Finished a disappointing 6th and never mounted an effort.

Gulfstream Park:
Race 4: Flamingo Hawk - 2 pts win - BEST BET
Trainer Saffie Joseph took over the training for Flamingo Hawk a few starts back and it’s taken some time to get this one going but it looked like the lightbulb finally went on last time out as he woke up in a big way to win by 11. I like the fact that Saffie protects him from claims by entering him here in this starter allowance race and a similar effort would be more than enough to take this field.
Aqueduct:
Race 4: Caramocha - 1 pt win
This runner won first time out which I always like to see. She was 99-1 that day and running on dirt. Her subsequent efforts weren’t pretty but now she’s been given time off and returns on turf - a surface that her Tomlinson numbers seem to indicate she’s better bred for. She possesses enough positional speed to make her dangerous at a big price going first time turf.
Keeneland:
Race 9: Besos - 1 pt win
Trainer Bob Baffert at 8-1 in a Derby prep race? That’s right. We’re looking for Baffert to sweep both Kentucky Derby preps this weekend and normally I wouldn’t use a runner whose numbers haven’t been as high as some of the others in here but Besos seems to have needed some time to develop and looked to put it all together in that last start. Baffert has won the Lexington Stakes before with Collected back in 2016 and missed it by a head in 2017 with West Coast. I see Besos winning from just off the pace.
Oaklawn:
Race 12: Concert Tour - 1 pt win
Handicappers across the world are virtually unanimous in selecting Concert Tour to win the Arkansas Derby. 4 of the 5 runners he’s facing today were left in his wake when he blasted them in the Rebel Stakes. Our likely Kentucky Derby favorite looks formidable here.
