Thursday’s Recap from Gulfstream Park:
Race 1: 2nd@ 4.90-1
Race 2: 4th@ 3.30-1
Race 3: 6th@ 16.10-1
Race 8: 1st@ 0.10-1 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Race 10: 1st@ 1.70-1 🔥🔥🔥🔥
We started the day in Race 1 with our selection Flying Black, forced to press the pace set by The Biggest One instead of stalking a speed duel. Not sure if that was the game plan but it certainly wasn’t how we envisioned the race being run. Flying Black finished second. In Race 2, High Tide wasn’t up to the class test in his first start against winners finishing 4th and in Race 3, our selection, Anything Goes was steadied after the start and never threatened thereafter. In Race 8, Prevalence, the day’s BEST BET asserted his dominance, easily besting a group of overmatched rivals and in the final race of the afternoon, Future Victory gave us back-to-back winners to close out the card.
We head back to Gulfstream Park for Friday’s card where we expect similar conditions to today with a fast main track and a firm turf course.
Friday Picks at Gulfstream Park
Race 1: Simply the Best - 2 pts win - BEST BET
We kick things off with maiden special runners sprinting on turf and believe it or not, this runner has the field's top three best speed figures and still may not go off favored! Hard to believe but jockey Irad Ortiz and trainer Wesley Ward will take a lot of play on Lime. That one has some speed and could be dangerous if he shakes loose but we’re confident that Simply the Best will be Simply the Best in Race 1.

Race 5: Mo Faith - 1 pt win
I debated on whether or not to include this runner in my picks but the potential odds are too juicy to pass up. Mo Faith catches a tough field first time out of the gates but her dam, Chestoria was a multiple stakes winner on grass winning her very first start on the lawn by 9 lengths. She’s a half to several turf winners – one who won first out on turf. So the breeding is definitely there.Trainer Kelly Breen has a 17% win percentage with first time starters on turf over the last 5 years and 42% finish in the money for an average win payoff of $28.40. This month runner’s likely to pay more than that. Value play.
Best of luck 🍀🍀🍀 to all our members playing races from Gulfstream Park on Friday!
