We started the day with a disappointing effort from Mani Pedi who had no real excuse. She was moving late but it was far too late and not enough. She’s never really been a good sprinter and seems to prefer longer distances so we’ll have to remember that for the future. In Race 5, the early scratch of Big Mountain meant that we had nobody to press It’s All Relevant on the lead. That left Hammerin Aamer with too much to do. In the final race of the day, Winner’s Laugh was hustled out of the gate by Trevor McCarthy and never looked back winning on debut for trainer Horacio DePaz.
Good morning Bettors Insider Team! Spring is only about a week and a half away for us here in the northern hemisphere. The sun ☀️ is shining and the birds are singing here in New York. A far cry from the snowy weather we had a few weeks ago.

We’re going to start our week with some racing from Tampa Bay Downs where we caught a few winners on Saturday. The forecast is expected to be sunny and 80 degrees with a fast main track and a firm turf course. Let’s get to work:
Tampa Bay Downs
Race 4: American of Course - 1 pt win
More maiden claimers square off here and we’re not enamored with the quality of any of the runners who have run before so we’re taking this first time starter from the dangerous barn of Kathleen O’Connell. O’Connell wins at a massive 30% of dirt first time starters and she uses Sammy Camacho to ride - her top journeymen rider. Full brother to this one banked $61k.
Race 5: Duchess of Sussex - 2 pts win - BEST BET
Today’s feature race is a mile allowance optional claiming race for fillies and mares 4 & up on turf and Duchess of Sussex ran the best race of her career last time out. She raced here at Tampa and won wire to wire in another race that appears to be key with the horse who ran 2nd to her that day winning her next start. Duchess of Sussex has already won at the track and distance and should sit the trip from just off the pace.
Best of luck 🍀🍀🍀 to all our members playing races from Tampa Bay Downs on Wednesday!!
