My name is Mike and I love the ponies. I enjoy finding an edge and staying away from going with the public as much as possible. But I do believe in playing favorites as well, if you have a solid 2nd choice paying decently in the exacta or double pools. I love racing and would love to discuss it all day if I could.

Delta Downs Race 8, 5:07 pm EST.
The Orleans $60k – For Fillies and Mares Four Years Old and Upward going 5 Furlongs on the dirt
Track: Fast
12 females are lining up Tuesday to take a crack at the 60k purse money being offered by Delta Downs.
1. Pace = Fast, looking at the DRF PP’s we have enough horses here that should be able to move quickly out of the gate and go for the lead. Which means CONTENTION at the front which leads to an even faster 1st QTR time.
2. Pace advantage goes to #9, Our Lost Love. With all the speed inside the 9 can set up a trip and has a pace advantage due to the speed. I call this a “coasting” trip, literally all this horse will have to do is coast off the speed in front of her. Set right off and let the front use up energy then bounce right by the competitors.
3. I do not like the 9! This will go back to your personal approach, the 9 can win, do not get me wrong. With a 2-1 morning line though and others in here I find to be more enticing I am willing to take a shot against Our Lost Love.
4. The pick is #2 Misty Day and if I get 9-2, I will be a happy fellow. TF early pace = 67. TF late pace = 81. Last # out 83, 2nd highest in the field. 1 for 1 at the track and 2/2 at the distance. The pace is there for the close and the form of the horse looks better to me than others.
The plays:
Win Bet #2 – Misty Day
Place Bet #2 - Misty Day
When I make a win / place bet by the way I never punch it in as a W/P on the adw. I want to see data later on and if the place bet is truly paying for itself.
