RT is spending Wednesday picking three races at Tampa Bay Downs and he's favoring Samy Camacho

RT's first post in Tampa is the 3rd race at 1:22 pm EST.

RT Report 11.25.2060

Three turf races from Tampa today.

Race 3 – 2yo $16K Maiden Claimers going one mile.

#6 Vet’s Gift (20/1) gets first blinkers today and drops into the claiming ranks. Take away its last race in the slop and he has put up solid numbers against better. #3 Flipping Fun (5/2) started his career on turf and showed improvement against msw types. Moved to dirt, dropped in class and has been competitive. I wouldn’t make this colt my first choice, however, I am including him in exotics. #10 Delfi Blue (5/1) why the world of twitter is so high on this colt is beyond me. Pass. My choice is #1 Handsome Effort (7/2) this horse is a whole different runner on turf. His last two on dirt have been abysmal and returning to turf and having Samy Camacho in the irons is a winning formula.

Race 5 – $16K claimers 3yo+ NWx going 9 panels

#7 D’craziness (5/2) Why not come right back with Samy Camacho? This time Georgina Baxter saddles this Florida bred and has had at or above par results. Baxter is 35% with horses off 2-6 months, 41% moving her horses down in class and 38% in claiming races. Additionally, D'craziness is 8:2-3-0 for $37K on Tampa turf and 8:3-2-0 for $71K at the distance. Look for Samy to press the pace and have him flying in the stretch. #9 Unlockthepotential (20/1) another entrant that is a far better turf runner than dirt. This Monmouth invader has raced against much tougher company and can hit the board at a big price today. #6 Can’t Trump Kitten (4/1) has put up excellent speed figs and may take a lot of money. However, trainer Diane Morici is 0% with class down, and 0% with horses off 2-6 months. This is one to put in your virtual stable and wait for the right time. #1 Pretorian (8/1) certainly one to put on your exotics. This year, he is 11:1-5-3 for $50K and has been sniffin’ around the board in every race except for the third back where he was claimed. Chicanery? Of course. #8 Threeohtwocassie (8/1) going for his third win in a row last out, he was bumped at the start and fought gamely to get back into contention; unfortunately, that effort gassed him and he gave up going down the lane. Trainer Tom Clark is 50% on turf and 42% with horses off 2-6 months. He has two solid works at Tampa, so this guy will be in contention early. #3 Afterburner (6/1) should be renamed hard luck kid. Overmatched in his last, The Hard Spun Stakes, at Presque, then ran in the slop in a $41K allowance at Parx, this Take Charge Indy gelding has been a tough competitor. His record on turf and poly, when given the right conditions, makes this guy a danger today.

My first inclination is to go with Samy/Georgina, and upon further review, I’ll go with the #8…..with many many exotics involving the above horses.

Race 7 - $16K Starter Allowance for girl horses 3yo+ NW$ going 5 furlongs

#4 Catsoutpfthebag (5/1) getting Mejia back on this mount a big plus for this Unbridled’s Song granddaughter. Given the speed in this race, Mejia will have a shot at pressing/closing out this race. #8 Sethamee Street (5/1) completely thrashed $41K allowance runners two back in going away fashion on Delaware turf hitting :57.3 for that effort. In her next, the connections put her in a slopfest and she ran horribly. Today, she faces lesser and will be chasing the 10, 13, 14 & 12 to her outside. Nice 3f freshening of late. 8 races this year for 3-1-0 and $90K. Best of this bunch. #10 Kanfu (12/1) settled in nicely on the lead last time and set the pace to not be caught. Going for her third win in a row, she enters this is in great form and will be tough to catch. #1 Suzie’ssteppinout (6/1) is dropping down to a level that she can finally handle. She tends to show middle moves and this turn back in distance, along with the shorter rail trip, should add benefit to her. Look for jockey Allen to take off with her earlier than in the past. #3 My Sisters Keeper (9/2) is going to take a lot of money and frankly, it’s unwarranted. There are much classier horses in this race. Pass. #9 Magic Hatter (20/1) strong closer had a rough trip in her last and can get a slice of the board. To include in exotics.

My choice today is #8 Sethamee Street. The last race being an aberration and the return to turf will show her class.
