#4 Jack O Liam (5/2) back after just nine days, this son of Lookin At Lucky is taking a class drop to a level where he’s had more success. He is third off the layoff and has the SmartCap/Equibase best overall speed, class and last ratings. Jockey/trainer are 22% together and you can look for him to get to an early lead. There’s plenty of speed in this, so we’ll see if he can sustain.
#7 – Quick Learner (7/2) was an abject failure in his last on turf, Tossing that race, you’ll get a closer type who has an exceptional chance to take this off the pace.
#3 Trusting Friend (3/1) Mychel Sanchez back on this mount where he peeled off two winners in a row at this level. Another off-the-pace type. Dropping back to a class where he’s had success, look for a better performance today.
My pick: I’ll go with #4. Given his third drop and third off the layoff, along with the second ride by the jockey, along with the ability to be sole speed, makes this my selection
Race 3 - $7.5K Claiming for fillies and mares 3yo+ NW16mx
Unfortunately, am out of time, so I am going with #3 Midnight Sky (3/1). He has overall best numbers and comes out of a key race where all of the runners, who have since raced, improved their speed numbers.
