Using Equibase speed and class numbers, SmartCap has uncovered #2 Sandy Sangria (6/1) with the best overall class and speed. This Euroears filly is 2-2 at WRD, is coming off an impressive win against state breds on April 13^th and did that in 1:05.3, the best of this group. She also has best last two and three back. #12 Always Inthe Munny (3/1) has best last, near best overall class and near best overall speed. The name is fitting as she is 3:1-1-1 and comes into this race off a 2.5 month layoff and has two recent bullet works at 5f in :59.5 and :59.1 respectively. If a sloppy track, the outside post will play to her pressing style and should be live down the stretch. #6 Sweet Carolina (4/1) has near best last, class and overall speed. She ships from Sunland and if you have read this from me before, you will know that horses shipping from there fare poorly at WRD. Pass. #10 Ballet On Ice (12/1) is 1-1 lifetime, has second best class speed and last races, yet posted a 71 Equibase number on the turf at Houston. It is common lore that good mudders equal good turf horses and often the reverse is true. Second time starters improve normally off their first race and with the added second Lasix. She just clipped a 3f workout from the gate in :36 flat. An improvement off the 71 will be enough to get this Drosselmeyer filly to the finish line first.
