SmartCap and RT go to Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort and have a Pick 4 to share

The 1st race at Oaklawn is set to post at 2:05 pm EDT.

Bad day yesterday.

Since returning, I am 25: 8-6-1

Using $2/w and $4/place, that’s $160 bet, $182.70 returned: for a net of $22.70 - an roi of 14.19%.

Today we are going to the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort in Hot Springs, Arkansas and are going to take a stab at the early pick 4.

Race 1

#7 Boo Be Right and #2 James’s Moonshine get the best numbers from this gang. #12 Explosive Shoes is a front runner and as with fields this size, the outside posts tend to run up fast to garner position. You will see the 9-12 go to the front with the first timer #6 Jesse Jones. I believe that Ricardo Santana, riding James’s Moonshine, will take a firmer hold of him than previous jockey Stewart Elliott did, save ground and let him loose in the stretch.

Race 2

#10 Tiz McNamara has best numbers all the way around and is based on the huge class drop he is taking. #2 Young Hendrick is a Broberg/Cohen claimer who has near best class and speed. Led last out as favorite until tiring. This will be his second off the layoff and right back at the same level. Will be the one to catch. #7 My Boy Lollipop has best last numbers as the beaten favorite in that race. Another huge class drop going from $30K to $10K and will take a lot of money. #12 In The Deep has solid numbers and had trouble last out getting rank early, as some lightly raced 3yo’s do. Has a win in three tries at the track and should be included in your exotics.

I am taking Tiz McNamara today. None of these entrants’ match his record of 5: 1-1-1 for $76K, for $15.1 per race.

Race 3

#1 Lewys Vaporizer has best overall class, near best overall speed and second best last out. Look for him to set the pace and try to control it today. Had a recent 4f in :48.8 freshening. #14 One Stop Shop (ae) has solid numbers and ships in from Sunland. If he can find his footing on this surface, look for him to be flying in the stretch. #3 Doc Curlin has best overall class and near best speed. Had a recent race at the track where he caught traffic and when shook loose, closed six lengths to get up for place, just 1.5 back from the winner. Look for another late flying effort. #7 Big League has best last numbers and drops from $20K to $10K today. Won at the $12.5 level in February and returned for last in a class step up with a solid effort. This horse is in solid form and will be a factor. My pick is Doc Curlin. Look for that late flyer to catch the speed after saving ground. Include in exotics - #5 Guska Mon Shoes 32: 9-5-5 for $223K at OP

Race 4

#1 Cherokee Maiden gets best overall speed and class, best last, best second back and best third back. Eight tries and three places with the last two as a beaten favorite, has this filly developed a losing habit? Doubtful. The last two were on an off track and the track has been playing to a heavy bias for the rail in sprints. If you are going to single your ticket, this will be the time. #4 Irish Intuition gets second best overall class and speed. Trainer Joe Sharp 19% with horses off a long layoff. Interestingly, this Exchange Rate filly has worked from the gate in her last eight, including a 5f in 1:01 flat on April 17th. #5 Malibu Marlee has near best last and a big improvement from second last to last race. Got off slow last time and ended up finishing a length and three quarters behind Cherokee Maiden in her last. #9 Kizzy B has Joe Talamo aboard for the second time and showed a huge improvement in last.

Pick 4

7-2-12-6/10-2-7/1-14-3-7/1-4-5-9 - $96

My ticket

4-2/10/1-3/1 - $1 😊
