Post time for the 3rd race is 2:00 pm EDT. This race is a $32K optional claimer for the girls, 3yo+, who are NWx or NW3 and will travel a mile on the turf.
#2 Wish Upon (3/1) enters with best last, best overall speed and best overall class. Has the virtuoso jockey Samy Camacho in the irons, is third off a layoff and will be the one to beat.
#3 Solar Kitten (8/1) has best overall class numbers, close to best last and is coming off the bench for Ian Wilkes, a 14% proposition. His last turf race was at Gulfstream and that has been playing more like a runway than a turf course – pass
#8 Passing Out (4/1) gets near best overall speed and class figs and best last two. That was from November. Trainer Shug McGaughey is 21% in this situation and with jockey Antonio Gallardo, they are 8/16 for 50%. This filly has a strong pedigree out of Orb and the dam Party Now who was 7:3-2-0 for $153K on turf. She is lifetime 6:2-0-2 for $102.6K/$17,600 per outing, the best in this race. She has had a steady diet of workouts since the break and I would have liked to see her completing a few longer ones. I believe better races are to come from this filly and she will hit the board.
#5 Steelin Magnolias (10/1) has strong overall number yet has lost by a combined 30 lengths in her last two. She has been off since the end of February and has clocked two bullet works since. Big class dropper is on Lasix today. Include in exotocs.
10-6-5-8 will all vie for the lead in this and Samy will lay off the pace and save ground coming out of the two position. When they get near the far turn, Wish Upon will be let loose and scorch the stretch. If you get 2/1 odds or greater on this gal, then she is a play.
