Allowance Thursday

Yesterday was u-g-l-y. I’m re-naming U2’s song to Wednesday, Bloody Wednesday.

2:04est Finger Lakes Race 3

$19,500 Allowance for 3yo+ NY State Breds Fillies and Mares going 1 mile, 70 yards on dirt

#6 – Flippity Flop (7/5)…scored at this level a month ago and returns with John Davila Jr. (33% wins) in the irons. Trainer Chris Engelhart/jockey Davila a deadly combo with 34% wins this meet and Davila 31% wins in routes. Given the outside position and the monsoon that hit the area yesterday, Davila will be able to keep her wide, less muddy blowback, near the lead, and strike in the stretch.

#2 – Unparalleled (2/1) second entrant from Chris Engelhart barn also won at this level two weeks ago. This filly and the #5 Kabuki (9/2) are the speed of the race and could set a pace on the muddy track that potentially wouldn’t be caught.

Bets - $20/w $40/p #6

2:40est Laurel Race 4

$42K Allowance for 3yo+ Fillies and Mares going 1 mile on the turf

#2 – Lacustre (5/2) scoring highest on Equibase speed and class ratings, this British invader is getting a needed cutback to one mile and leading jockey Trevor McCarthy (17% wins on the turf). Additionally, trainer Cathal Lynch hitting 33% winners on turf and puts blinkers on her for the first time. Trainer/jockey scoring at 31% and recently scored a bullet work on October 10th. It wouldn’t be surprising to see her four or five back entering the stretch, then getting up in the final paces.

Bets - $20/w $40/p #2

8:23est Penn National Race 6

$28K Allowance for 3yo+ Fillies and Mares going 5.5 furlongs

#1 – Not Sure (7/2) turning back to 5.5 furlongs a plus for this A.P. Indy filly as trainer Duarte (9%) seems to have her pointed in the right spot. In her last out, jockey Toledo (15%) set the pace before tiring in the stretch in a richer race at Delaware. She comes into this race with one of the best last numbers, best class rating, a bullet work and Jevian Toledo’s second time in the irons. The one to catch.

Bets $20/w $40p #1
